What do you think of Dr. David Stern? Shalom Ed, I assume you mean in reference to his noted works, "The Jewish New Testament" and "The Jewish New Testament Commentary". I think he has done a wonderful thing for all who are interested in seeing the Messianic writings from a Jewish perspective. I don't necessarily agree with every detail he has written, but I think his works should be required reading for everyone in the Messianic community. Shalom, Mishkan David

Shalom Mishkan! So good to see you back! I agree with your sentiments. I believe everyone should own a copy of The Complete Jewish Bible as it is a most wonderful resource and version of the scriptures. Berachot b'Yeshua, Reuel

Shalom uv'rachah b'Yeshua HaMashiach.
I just finished reading Restoring The Jewishness Of the Gospel and Messianic Jewish Manifesto by Dr Stern. Also have on order Understanding The Difficult Words of Jesus {New Insights from a Hebraic Perspective} by David Bivin & Roy Blizzard, Jr, Yeshua - A Guide To The Real Jesus and the Original Church, Dr. RonMoseley and Christ In The Old Testament, by James A. Borland.
Since i am new to this i wanted to get some primers. Once i finish the books i will purchace The Complete Jewish Bible and The Jewish New Testament Commentary.
From your response and The Ruach HaKodesh. I find myself in agreement with about 90% or so and just trying to figure out what applies and what doesn't, what to do and what not to do ect.. as a Gentile believer.
I also feel The Ruach HaKodesh leading me, carry is more like it, and am so blessed being led here.

I would agree with the prevailing sentiments here. David Stern has done some great ground-breaking work and has proven to be quite valuable. I don't necessarily agree with all of his positions, but all-in-all would recommend them, especially to those who are just starting in the Messianic walk.

Toda Rabbah and shalom; If there is other books that would be of help just throw me a bone. Ed I have too many to list here. Two of my favorites are: Wilson's "Our Father Abraham" Gruber's "Copernicus and the Jews" Copernicus and the Jews is fairly new, and I just finished reading it a few months ago. I am probably on my third run through on this one. Shalom, Yitzchak

Definitely read First Fruits Of Zion "Restoration" and "King Of The Jews". I recommend FFOZ resources in general. I agree. I love his translation of the scriptures and some of his other books, but I do not agree with all of his theological conclusions as found in his commentaries (especially regarding and goyim)... The Messianic Jewish manifesto was a good read. Shalom chaverim, Reuel
