Why isn't the tribe of Dan listed in the 144,000 mentioned in the Revelation 7?
Any Ideas?

Why isn't the tribe of Dan listed in the 144,000 mentioned in the Revelation 7? Any Ideas? Shalom, i had found your question interesting. it was something i never thought of, so i looked around and found a short article on the subject, and it seems to make sense to me... It is interesting that Dan is also left out of the genealogies of I Chronicles 1 through 9 where the other tribes of Israel are listed.
As a whole, the tribe of Dan was guilty of idolatry. They stole other people’s idols and set them up to be used in their own worship (Judges 18:14-31). Dan was the first tribe to organize idol worship and this continued nearly 500 years, “until the day of the captivity of the land” (Judges 18:30).
Throughout history, Dan has rejected God’s true religion, replacing it with idolatry. Most of the descendants of Dan will have to wait for salvation until after God seals the 144,000. Genesis 49:1 states, “And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.” Continue in verse 18 where Jacob directly speaks of Dan: “I [Dan] have waited for Your salvation, O Lord.”
Eventually, Dan, as well as the other tribes of Israel, will be saved. In fact, Ezekiel 48:1 states that Dan is first in line when land is distributed at the beginning of the millennium. The 144,000 are only a small number of those who will ultimately be saved. God’s Plan encompasses all of humanity (I Tim 2:4).Shalom v'Chesed, Yochanan

This article was interesting. I knew that they had left the land that they were given by YHWH......"Moses is addressing the people, and warns of what will happen should they forsake God, and pursue false idols and gods.
"The Lord shall never be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the Lord and His jealousy will burn against that man, and every curse which is written in this book will rest on him, and the Lord will blot out his name from under heaven."
The tribe of Dan had sinned against God by setting themselves up as a city of pagan worship and idolatry. They had led astray untold numbers of Israelites, and had rivaled the true Temple in Jerusalem by erecting false idols, golden calves, and possessing high places of worship to foreign gods.
A member of the tribe had blasphemed the Name in the wilderness, and this trend was continued by the tribe of Dan itself after the division of the kingdom. This passage in Deuteronomy may provide insight into why the tribe of Dan was left off the list of twelve tribes found in Revelation.
Perhaps their willingness to intermingle with the nations, and their readiness to accept Micah's idols, and later Jeroboam's golden calve, led to their exclusion from the list in Revelation.
However, it should not be lost that this tribe also helped construct the the Tent of Meeting, and Solomon's Temple. They came to the support of king David when he needed men. This enigmatic tribe possesses an intriguing history, surrounded by their mysterious absence in Revelation.
The tribe of Dan, more than any other, has been credited as being one of the lost tribes responsible for the settlers of Great Britain and America.
Though they are a suspect tribe of Israel, often mingling with other nations and idolatry, the tribe of Dan has captured the fascination of scholars and experts seeking to reconstruct the migration of the lost tribes of Israel. Dan has been associated with Homer and the Greeks, as well as Britain and the America's."
Moderator note: removed the link because it contains anti-Semitic teachings, such as "The people who try to claim they are God's Chosen People a.k.a. the jews are none other than the seed of the Serpent and are Canaanite imposters."

I once interacted with a group of Sacred Namers in order to bring a brother out of their sphere of influence. One of the things they were really big on was the 'Lost Tribes" which, they claimed had settled in Europe, especially Denmark. One of them was a very LARGE Danish looking guy. I swear, he was the whitest person I've ever seen; and he looked for all the world like one of those pictures you see of a muscle-bound, large Norseman bent on pillaging and murder. He said he was from the tribe of Dan, since he was Danish, and since my name was Dan I could be from the same tribe. I thought I was about to die a very bloody death when I told him the tribe of Dan settled in Ethopia, not Denmark!
Fortunately I got my friend out of there soon after. But this guy lives 2 1/2 blocks from me, and whenever he sees me he looks at me like he's about to rip my head off my shoulders and play kickball with it- which I've no doubt he could do!
The lost tribes are a diversion. Many of the tribe of Dan were not long ago rescued from North Africa and made aliyah to Israel. I'd recommend focusing your studies on more productive areas. Another problem with the lost tribes being European is this always seems to lead to anti-Semitism and replacement theology.
The rest of that information you give is interesting though.

I am pretty simple minded when it comes to questions of this nature. I.e. "Why isn't Dan listed in Rev 7." Here is my observation. First Dan means Judge. Second Manasseh, which means Forgetting, replaces Dan in the list. It is interesting, to me, that God Forgets our sins and doesn't set as our Judge once we commit our selves to serving Him. To me this is a play with names that confirms the overall theme of the Book, that as bad as Judgement is, in the end it is forgotten and mercy endures for ever.
