Hello, There is a discussion I am involved in on another board where they are trying to figure out the significance of the palm branch.
One question that keeps coming up is, if palm branches were/are used in a Jewish wedding.
Does anyone know this answer?
Also, if there is any scriptural reference for your answer that would be great also!

The date palm is a representation of life, vitality and goodness (wholesomeness or well-being). It is a traditional decoration for all kinds of festive events. As far as having a specific purpose and reference within the ceremony, as the lulav during the Feast of Sukkot, I don't know of any.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. (Psalms 92:12 KJV)
This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes. I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof: now also thy breasts shall be as clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples; And the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak. (Song of Solomon 7:7-9 KJV)
The palm tree is a major theme of decoration in Ezerkiel's Temple (Ezekiel 40, 41).
