We can read it, but does it still exist (the musical part of it) anywhere? Reading Deuteronomy 31:21 it says it will not be forgotten from the lips of their descendants. To me that would imply also the musical part, not just the words. it also talks about it being sung along with the Song of the Lamb in Revelations.

O.K. I got a reply from an Orthodox Jewish guy via cell phone. He says that it depends on your tradition/cultural background. Each one has a different "tune" for the song. I also learned from my friend (his wife) that according to her, the entire is sung. Though she may be wrong as she is not religious, though her husband is. Kind of cool though if she is right. I can't imagine singing some of that stuff, so I suspect she is wrong!

Yes, she is right. Each week I open the to the Parsha for that week and chant it from the Ashkenazi Nusach. There are different tunes, because there are different traditions. The Ashkenazi predominantly from Eastern Europe, and the Sefardi from North Africa and Spain. I am preparing today for the chanting of Eikev tomorrow. Shalom, Yitzchak
