Did Yeshua claim to be God?
This has been a topic of study (as well as debate) for me lately.
I would be curious as to your position on this topic.

Did Yeshua claim to be God? This has been a topic of study (as well as debate) for me lately. I would be curious as to your position on this topic. Actually, He did make the claim - several times. He made the claim at least two times in the first seven chapters of the gospel of John. Our church has a podcast at www.thewordisgrace.com, and if you read the descriptions beside each one, you'll see a couple of episodes that deal with that topic. Let me know what you think! |

and Yeshua also forgave sin before calvary.. I think this makes a very big claim...  |

Yes; in John 4:25 - 27, the woman at the well tells Jesus, "I know that when the Messiah comes, He will tell us all things." Jesus replied, "I who speak to you am He."
No matter how you slice it, He was telling that woman that He is indeed the Messiah. No twisting of the words can deny his claim.
Later on, in chapter 8 Jesus tells them that "before Abraham was, I am" which is clearly a claim to be the very voice from the burning bush, who spoke to Moses.
In chapter 9, Jesus heals a man that was blind from birth. Jesus asks him, "do you believe in the Son of God?" The man says "who is he that i may believe on him?" Jesus says , "You have both seen him, and it is He who is talking to you ."
Then, Jesus let the man worship him - if he were not claiming to be God, this would not be the case.
There are countless times when Jesus claims to not only be the Son of God, but God Himself. He also claims to be the Messiah several times. When people to say that he never made the claim, they only show their ignorance of scripture.
