Hi all I thank G-d that I am now doing the study on Redemption in TaNaKh! Anyone please jump in if I'm not in line with scripture. So far what is the most amazing understanding that I have gotten is that it's possible to be in covenant with G-d without living with Him for eternity. This is much different than the "view" I previously had which was you're either saved or you are not saved. But now I see and understand that there was redemption in the TaNaKh and that it was Grace, hmmm. Ex 6:1-5 4 I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers. 5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenantThis is very important to understand. That Israel wasn't chosen because they agreed to keep the "law", they were chosen by grace in order to serve G-d. Bottom line if you will, He promised, long before He ever gave them the , that He would be their G-d, and they would be His people. Period. I always believed that it was a unconditional covenant that had to do with when He gave the but when studying scripture this covenant has nothing to do with it. Marc

Absolutely Correct! We have always been saved by the grace (mercy) of HaShem. If this were not the case, then how could everyone who lived before the Mashiach have been redeemed?

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. (Heb 4:2 KJV)

Amein Mark,
Just as our Great Elohim is the same yesterday, today, and forever...so is His way of salvation and redemption. The scriptures say that Yeshua was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8). Therefore, His sacrifice, although having to take place at some point in time, was accomplished from the beginning for those whom trust in Adonai putting their faith in Him and His plan of redemption which has it's scarlet thread woven from the beginning (B'resheet/Gen.) to the end (Revelation). But, it is true that Avinu Melchenu (our Father and King) makes covenants with people and His people that are binding regardless of their future salvation. We whom are in Yeshua The Messiah, whom stay in Yeshua, can be certain of the great salvation He will bring.
Shalom,
Reuel
