Not eating pork and keeping the sabbath(as an example) = equals , or the Law as reaffirmed by the Prophets. The is not necessary for salvation. The law as affirmed by the Prophets is not necessary for salvation. So, what is the for then? And if it was not necessary for salvation, why does Yeshua say it will never be abolished, till the earth be removed? Marc

There's great old story of a old country farmer who married a young wife. They lived together for many years and he said very, very little. One day she complained that he never offered her any affection or seemed to consider her feelings. He responded, "I told ya I loved when I married ya. If anythin changes I let ya know." That seems to be the way we view our relationship with Adonai. We're in. We've got the prize. We have obtained a relationship with the Kingof Kings and Lord of Lords through the atoning blood of Messiah Yeshua.... Now that that'sover with we can get back to life the way we want it. Why should we care about since we are already guaranteed a loving relationship with Adonai as our Father through Messiah Yeshua? Heb 12:5-8 KJV And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: (6) For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (7) If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (8) But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. I tell you, I don't understand why some of my children are so prone to find themselves bent over the couch. It's as though they have nothing to do but get chastened by my hand overe and over again for the same old things. It's because they do not own for themselves. Their lives are self-willed as opposed to submissive. I have an appointment in a couple of dayw with a young man who is goping through a lot of hard times right now. He's going to say, "I just can't understand why all of this is happening to me." I'm going to smile and put my hand on his shoulder and say, "I want to affirm to you that Adonai loves you very, very much. Let's take a moment to look in our Bibles at Hebrews chapter 12..." Why should we follow as believers who are saved by grace? For me, it's mainly because I don't prefer THAT position on the couch!

Marc, here's the best way I know of to explain the purpose of the . The written is not the . Shocking statement, I know. The written is the description of the . What is the ? The true is the living person that we know as Yeshua HaMashiakh. The written is merely His description. So do we immitate Yeshua for salvation? No. We do it as the continuation of our Salvation. We do it in order to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." Does that make any sense at all?
