Most of you who have me figured out by now, know that I'm scratching for something specific; but I would definitely like to hear your thoughts and resasonings.

I forgot to say that the reasoning for this to me would be, because It was the first holy day God created from the foundation of the earth, and He of course loves His Son, in Whom He is well pleased which is the Lord of the Sabbath.
As for the second favorite i would say the feast of tabernacles. hehehe
Shalom, nasah

In Deuteronomy 4, Adonai is commanding the people through Moses to remember, to take special care to hold fast to the things of : of the mitvotim and of the celebrations. Special care is taken in verse 10 to share a specific day: the day that they received the commandments from the Mountain of God. Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons; Especially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children. (Deuteronomy 4:9-10) The word "especially", which begins verse 10, is not actually there; but it is implied that this day is most noteworthy of all days- if you could keep nothing else, keep this one day special. There are more than a few arguments to support this logically. It was Adonai's introduction to all the people. It was at this spot and at this time that the entire population of Israel heard the voice of God. What other community in the world can make such bold a claim? Ther Lord, He is God, not because some guy told me so or because some writings have convinced me; but I heard His voice speak to me with my own ears. Very practically, this day is most important because it was the giving of the to the people. It is our anniversary of coming inot the knowledge of truth and righteousness by His standards. It is the day when we began to get a glimpse of who He is. This day is most important because His Word is most important. The specific purpose of this day is to give His honor. How important is to our God? Psalm 138:2 declares that Adonai has exalted His Word even above His name! Yet, there is something altogether beautiful about this day many of us miss as we read over the text. This is the day that Adonai asked the people. "Will you marry Me?" And Israel said, "Yes." I've sat with Christian scholars who scoff at the words of the people when they promised, "All that the Lord has said, we will do." "They didn't count the costs! They didn't take into account what they were getting themselves in for!" one laughed. Boy, that could sure ruin the moment for any hopeful groom-to-be. I remember, myself, having literally been backed to the end of the hall, sitting in the corner of the floor, when I looked up my girlfriend and said, "Marry me." How the memory would be altogether different than it is if she backed away, crossed her arms and asked, "Who's paying?" The day that my wife said yes to me is the most exciting memory I have in life. I couldn't keep it inside! I whooped and hollared all the way home. My wedding day was a nightmare; but the day she said "yes" is more precious to me than any memory in life. Shavaot, or the Feast of Pentecost, needs to be very, very special to us. It is very, very special to Adonai. May we bring joy to this celebration this coming year and on until He returns.

I think God's favorite holiday would be the day He died on the Cross for you and me. Without His death on the cross we would all be going to hell. Praise God for the day that the Lord died for each of us.

Praise God for the day that the Lord died for each of us. morningstar, myname-Donna I don't really think He has a favorite, but if He did, I like to think it would be Shemini Atzeret (the eighth day of Sukkot). It has no stated purpose in the , and the only specific commandment about it is for Israel to "linger" in Jerusalem. I think the sages have nailed this one, saying that it's purpose is a chance for God to spend extra time with His Beloved.
