Have any of you TRULY considered the wording of this passage? I heard a PROFOUND teaching on this and was totally blindsided by it.
Look at the first word in verse 22 - "many"
What does "many" mean to the average beleiver? More than 50%, majority, etc.
Who are the beleivers Yeshua is referring to? I'm betting NOT Hare Krishna, Buddist, etc. Who else is left that fits this description? Evangelical Christianity. So, next time you are in a church, look around and plug the word "many'' in and check out the people around you. Sobering thought.
Matthew 7:21Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.
22Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?
23And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].(C)

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." [Matthew 7:14] In this Narrow Way, Jesus Christ and His Blood Sacrifice is the only way that anyone can enter Heaven. He is the only Savior, the only Messiah, and the only way in which a person can ever go to the Father. This is a very hard spiritual road, one in which a person can believe only certain things, and must obey the commandments of Jesus Christ. They cannot believe anything, do anything, and still get to Heaven. This Narrow Road is so difficult that, in any generation, very few people will find it, and fewer still will stay on it.
Tares outnumber the wheat by a gigantic margin.
Not so good.
