Shalom All,
A couple of years ago I asked the e-sword to add the Jewish Publication Society Tenach to their bible software and they have finally done it!
www.e-sword.net/index.html
www.e-sword.net/bibles.html
For those who are learning Greek I also recommend that you download the LXX as some words in the NT have been translated in such a manner as to justify current practice. (mia toon sabbatoon etc... see www.godstruthfortoday.org/ConcordantVersion/html.htm Concordant Version fixes those mis-translations but is based on the Wescott Hort manuscripts that are "less Jewish" than the Textus Receptus).
(Not unlike translating cohenim to ministers to de-emphasize the fact that the nation of Israel was to be a kingdom of priests in the Stone Edition Tenach.)
JPS (Exodus 19:6) and ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.'
I am very excited about the Concordant Version translation. I am not in agreement with all that I have read so far but it is refreshing to see so many obfuscated scriptures rendered literally.
<SNIP>
The greek underneath the translation is obviously Wescott Hort (groan...) but
(will reserve final judgement till I have had a complete read) it appears
to be literally rendered...

Some touchstone scriptures:
/*-----------------------*[First day of the week]*----------------------*/
First of all "First day of the week" (protos hemeris tou ebdouman) is not there in scripture. The ordinal word "first" in Greek is protos yet protos is not in this scripture (it has the cardinal one) nor is the greek word for day hemeris (although it may be inferred) The word "week" in Greek today is Ebdouman the word "week" in the Septuagent is Ebdouman and its not in this scripture.
Matthew 28:1 Now it is the evening of the sabbaths. At the lighting up into one of the sabbaths came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to behold the sepulcher.
Mark 16:1 And, for the elapsing of the sabbath, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, buy spices, that, coming, they should be rubbing Him.
Mark 16:2 And, very early in the morning on one of the sabbaths, they are coming to the tomb at the rising of the sun.
Mark 16:9 Now, rising in the morning in the first sabbath, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.
Luke 24:1 Now in the early depths of one of the sabbaths, they, and certain others together with them, came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they make ready.
John 20:1 Now, on one of the sabbaths, Miriam Magdalene is coming to the tomb in the morning, there being still darkness, and is observing the stone taken away from the door of the tomb.
John 20:19 It being, then, the evening of that day, one of the sabbaths, and the doors having been locked where the disciples were gathered together, because of fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst and is saying to them, "Peace to you!"
Acts 20:7 Now on one of the sabbaths, at our having gathered to break bread, Paul argued with them, being about to be off on the morrow. Besides, he prolonged the word unto midnight.
1 Corinthians 16:2 On one of the sabbaths let each of you lay aside by himself in store that in which he should be prospered, that no collections may be occurring then, whenever I may come.
Comment: Agricultural society. When did Paul say that he would visit to receive this? Did Paul have them collect funds for some unknown day that he would go there OR are we speaking of harvest time aka - feast of weeks?
/*-----------------------*[First day of the week]*----------------------*/
/*-----------------------*[lawlessness not iniquity]*-------------------*/
Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone saying to Me 'Lord! Lord!' will be entering into the kingdom of the heavens, but he who is doing the will of My Father Who is in the heavens.
Matthew 7:22 Many will be declaring to Me in that day, 'Lord! Lord! Was it not in Your name that we prophesy, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many powerful deeds?'
Matthew 7:23 And then shall I be avowing to them that 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, workers of lawlessness!'
Matthew 24:12 And, because of the multiplication of lawlessness, the love of many shall be cooling.
/*-----------------------*[lawlessness not iniquity]*-------------------*/
/*-----------------------**----------------------*/
Hebrews 4:9 Consequently a sabbatism is left for the people of God.
/*-----------------------**----------------------*/
/*------------------------*[ they did not correct the name James but did synagogue]*---------------*/
James 2:2 For if there should be entering into your synagogue a man with a gold ring, in splendid attire, yet there should be entering a poor man also, in filthy attire,
/*------------------------*[ they did not correct the name James but did synagogue]*---------------*/
/*---------*[ the word ekklesia refers to Jews, Christians and even pagan legal assemblies]*----------*/
Acts 19:39 Now if you are seeking for anything concerning other things, in the legal ecclesia will it be explained.
/*---------*[ the word ekklesia refers to Jews, Christians and even pagan legal assemblies]*----------*/
/*------------------------*[it is dogma/decree's NOT ordinances ]*----------------------*/
Colossians 2:14 erasing the handwriting of the decrees against us, which was hostile to us, and has taken it away out of the midst, nailing it to the cross,
/*------------------------*[it is dogma/decree's NOT ordinances ]*----------------------*/
/*--------*[kjv translates "food" AND "meat" all "meat" and makes scripture say thing it does not]*----*/
Romans 14:15 For if, because of food, your brother is sorrowing, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not, by your food, destroy that one for whose sake Christ died.
/*--------*[kjv translates "food" AND "meat" all "meat" and makes scripture say thing it does not]*----*/
/*-------------------------*[did not care initially for this rendering but the greek supports it]*----------------*/
Romans 15:16 for me to be the minister of Christ Jesus for the nations, acting as a priest of the evangel of God,
that the approach present of the nations may be becoming well received, having been hallowed by holy spirit.
