I am doing the study of the book of Hebrews from bereansonline.org and in the appendix of the study they recommend and use the Hebrew Names version bible. How does this compare to the Complete Jewish Bible? I do have the Complete Jewish Bible and it is excellent .

It is simply an earlier Christian translation with Hebrew names. At least that's the way I understand it. While I appreciate the work of the HNV people and of Mr. Stern, I don't really reccomend either of their versions. They're not bad translations, but I think there are better ones out there. Which translations do you recommend. I am open to examining whats recommended. I am trying to develop a better reference library with translations that are more true to the original context and meaning. I am tired of the hellenistic/platoic bent on the truth.

I reccomend "The Scriptures" and I think I can safely endorse the "PEACE" translation by Andrew Roth, even though it isn't out yet. I also reccomend looking into the Peshitta in general, and Rev. Glenn David Bauscher's translation in particular. I also appreciate the LITV interlinear from Sovereign Grace Publishers, and the JPS is good aswell.

I know that you can get it at Amazon.com, and then at the editor's website. (unfortunately, his name is so long and complicated that I can't say it, let alone spell it. lol!)
I don't know of a specifically Messianic outlet, but Amazon has just about everything a person could ask for.

Get the scriptures from ISR institute for scripture research in S.Africa, they are on the net. Also you can now download it for free for Sword Project and Esword.

I would not recommend "The Scriptures", I own a copy and am not impressed. There are much better translations out there done by more reputable and scholarly translators. Also, please don't promote "ISR institute for scripture research" here on the forums as this organization has ties to the promotion of doctrine that is in violation of the forum rules and guidelines.
I really recommend for people to pick up a version of the Complete Jewish Bible, especially for corporate Messianic gatherings. But, one should get in the habit of studying with several different versions. I also enjoy the Hebrew Names Version of the scriptures. I use it often. If you have e-sword, you should download it and use it along with other versions in your studies.
But, definitely avoid the version called, "The Scriptures".
