Reuel,
Very interesting.
I was just having a conversation with a Rabbi friend of mine the other evening on some of the same issues.
One of the things we discussed is the self hating Jews who attack Israel. Richard Dreyfus, the actor is a perfect example of the Jew who does not understand Israel, or support Israel.
The other most important message I got from that short was the idea of being Jewish not being cool. This is one of the reasons I think so many Jewish believers remain in churches. I speak from experience.
When I look back on my life, I remember what it was like to be chased home from Shul having rocks thrown at me. I remember the name calling and the jokes. When I came to faith in Messiah, I was finally cool, and part of the group. I could call myself a christian, and not worry about the persecution any longer.
Of course this was short lived, as HaShem reminded me who I was, and where I came from. It is unfortunate that most Jews who come to faith love being part of the group, and hiding in the church where it is safe, rather than being who G-d created them to be.
We have to pray that our Jewish brothers and sisters will be released from this bondage, and proudly return to their heritage, proclaiming with pride, "I am a Jew."
Shalom,
Yitzchak

Wow! Where did you dig that up Reuel?
That was a very moving, very poignant documentary. Having come from a family that was assimilated to the point of being barely recognizable, it struck a particular chord.
I agree with you Yitzchak. We have enough problems already without having to deal with self-hating Jews on top of it all.
For me, I have a somewhat different experience. When it was finally revealed to me that I was Jewish, I felt a great sense of pride. Since that time many years ago, I have proudly told everyone I talked to that I was a Jew. Strangely enough, I have experienced no anti-Semitism. This inspite of the fact that I have held discussions with a former skinhead and muslims on two different occasions. I think that I have been blessed to not have experienced the sort of problems that Yitzchak and others have suffered.
I also agree with you Yitzchak that it is high-time to recall our brothers and sisters to their proud heritage.
Shalom, Natanel

Natanel,
My dear brother, I do have a few years on you. There was more anti-semitic activity in this country back in the late 60's and early 70's when I was in Hebrew school.
Today, we see the increase on a more international level, and it is just really beginning to surface again in this country the way it did back then.
I praise HaShem that you did not have to go through this, but I believe the future will be different for us. The persecution will be there, but I will no longer have to run, for I will stand in the strength of the L-rd, and proclaim and lift up the name of Yeshua.
Shalom,
Yitzchak

Sorry, sometimes I forget the age difference. Today, we see the increase on a more international level, and it is just really beginning to surface again in this country the way it did back then. Really? I haven't heard of anything other than the incident at the Seattle Community Center. I praise HaShem that you did not have to go through this, but I believe the future will be different for us. The persecution will be there, but I will no longer have to run, for I will stand in the strength of the L-rd, and proclaim and lift up the name of Yeshua. Amein! Though we should certainly leave the Galut and return to Ha Eretz before or during this time should we not?

Shalom achim,
I am glad that you enjoyed the video. I constantly have Messianic friends send me interesting links and e-mails and some of it I feel enspired to share. In fact, I have another video to share which I will post in a different thread. Check it out.
Brachot aleychem b'shem Yeshua HaMashiach,
Reuel
