I have just finished this book and have found it to be most excellent. Buy it by the box loads (if you can) and pass it out (after you have read it).
Shalom chaverim,

This really is a fantastic book to read! I sure appreciated being able to get a copy of it. I have loaned it out to my father and it has made him think. He is still not convinced yet on being observant, due to certain Scriptures that, in his mind, seem to go against the necessity of it. However, it was really gave him something to think and study on.

I am reading it right now, and I agree, it is a very clear, easy to read book. I am going to buy several copies to pass out.

I have been forced to delete my endorsement of "Restoration" put out by First Fruits of Zion. FFOZ has shifted their emphasis in a manner that is more accommodating to mainstream Christianity: softening their stance regarding gentiles observing . They have taken the position that is obligatory for the ethnic Jew but optional for the gentile. Their defense of this change is expressed in "white pages" on their website, which unfortunately regurgitates the same arguments that they had previously argued against very effectively. Whether or not we see their argument is valid in either way isn't really relevant. They are unquestionably reaching to a new market base (a much larger one). We're working to create new materials today to fill the void that has been left in the Observant community. www.renewourdays.com

Restoration and other materials from FFOZ have been re-published to soften the emphasis upon Observance for the gentile. Do you feel it is obligatory for gentiles to be observant?

Mark,
I attended Feast of Tabernacles with Season or Our Joy and there was a speaker from FFOZ trying to explain their shift. It seemed to me that his position was that is was okay to be a carnal christian and that there was no need to become a Spiritual Christian. It was my first exposure to FFOZ and it wasn’t a positive one.
Tonga,
Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Most of Christianity is based upon the premiss that one can hear from the Jesus who rose from the dead without giving any heed to Moses or the prophets, though Jesus himself taught that if one does not hear Moses and the Prophets neither will he be convinced by His rising from the dead.
Matt 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Prov 13:15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
So what is this yoke that Jesus is speaking of. Proverbs tells us that the way of transgressors is hard. Transgressors are those who go against and or break God’s laws, so the easy way or yoke is for those who observe and do God’s laws just and Jesus observed and done the laws of God. So Gentiles have a choice to make the same as Israel did in the following verses:
Deut 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: 20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
John 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Any Gentile who loves Jesus must keep his commandments which come from the Father.

Do you feel it is obligatory for gentiles to be observant? What's your opinion on the matter, Tonga? I also have a question for you, if you don't mind. Was it obligatory for the Gentiles that were present at Sinai during HaMatan, to be observant, and why, or why not? Shalom
