The debate summarized in the following article raised several interesting points.
The issue of tolerance, (or lack of), in regards to denigrating a particular Faith would make an interesting topic for the Forum.
Putting any other religion, (except Judaism or Christianity), in a book and/or movie that defames or outright blasphemes that faith would cause an absolutely deafening uproar. The recent riots over the Danish cartoons of Muhammad are just one example.
Seems like it's OK to bash Christians or Jews and Blaspheme the Almighty, just don't say anything about Buddha, or Muhammad, or the Dali Llama. That wouldn't be "politically correct", or "tolerant".
As to the supposed "Facts" on which Dan Brown based his fictional novel.......I'm sure others here have an opinion.
FFOZ has a new book available by D. Thomas Lancaster called, "KING OF THE JEWS" Resurrecting the Jewish Jesus. This book makes some excellent points about the misrepresentation of Yeshua throughout history.
Rabbi Boteach comments in regards to salvation fit nicely with a couple of current threads.
Any thoughts, comments, or rants?

A Messianic Jew who teaches at New York University says the makers of "The Da Vinci Code" wouldn't dare smear Muhammad and the Quran the way they do Jesus and Christianity. Michael Brown took part in a debate on "The Da Vinci Code" last night with Dallas Theological Seminary professor Darrell Bock and Orthodox Jewish Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. Bock called the novel and upcoming film "a good yarn with thin thread" that can tragically mislead people who want to have a relationship with God. Rabbi Boteach said people are attracted to "The Da Vinci Code" because -- like him -- they object to the Christian belief that people can't go to heaven unless they believe in Jesus. Last night's debate was sponsored by Chosen People Ministries. [AP]
