I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Ron, smashingjerry is a horse I had a few years ago. I live in California. I became a christian in 1992 (I think). I really don't keep track of things like that. When I first became a christian I bought a bible and read it cover to cover. I still read the Bible cover to cover at least once a year. To me it is clearly stated in the New Testament that we should be obeying G-d's commandments. I almost converted to Judaism at one point, because I couldn't seem to find a church that also believed that. This may sound odd, but G-d showed me in a dream that I was not to convert. I have been a Catholic, I even went so far as to take a pilgrimage. I have been a Seventh Day Adventist (not at the same time, wouldn't that be a mess) and I've been an Evangelical. But I never really bought into any of those doctrines. I discovered the Hebrew roots “movement” and never turned back. I read a lot, things like theology, apologetics among other christian things. And I still know almost nothing.

Your words sound familiar. I have been a Seventh-day Adventist all my life but about the age of 50 found out I wasn't encouraed to read ALL the Bible. When I did I was shocked at what I found. I am still a member of the denomination (so far) but am now fully observant which puts me out of step with the rest of the denomination. I haven't found anything that is really any better. I too was Holy Spirit guided to avoid conversion to Judaism. I find that labels can so easily mislead so I am careful.

We are all on a journey for the absolute truth. Having His Spirit will help keep the deception and false teachings away. When we sense a feeling of peace don't be too quick to believe that it is our creator and perform a scripture check. Everything has to line up with the Word. Micha'el
