Hi! I'm Leyna. I grew up Southern Baptist, then spent a couple of years in a Nondenominational church, then fell away from YaH for many years. I came back to Him about 5 years ago, and got back into the Nondenominational/Pentecostal/Charismatic scene. I would read stuff in the Bible that simply did not go along with what I was being taught in church, and it really bothered me. I prayed about it, and YaH sent me to the only Messianic congregation in my area, where I am now...and it's all clicking into place finally. I'm pretty much "shunned" by my "Christian friends", because our beliefs about the Law, Feasts, Sabbath, etc. are so very different. It's pretty lonely out there, so I am glad I found this place, and hope to make lots of friends and learn a lot! Shabbat Shalom!

Hi Leyna, and glad you found us! We're a small group right now, but growing.
Yours is a familiar story, similar in many ways to mine! The Messianic movement would probably fall apart if not for us ex-Southern Baptists and disillusioned Pentecostals!
Look forward to your posts.

Welcome Leyna! Glad you have made it to the site. Your story sounds like so many others. It is amazing the amount of attack you receive for even mentioning the words or Hashem's Feast days. Keep up the good work and stick it out. Have a blessed day! Shalom! Yedidyah

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, while ago, a Christian friend of mine told me that she "loved me, BUT that I needed to go read the book of Galations" This was after I had posted a nice video called "What is Messianic Judiasm?". It was funny, the other day, my roommate, who is VERY "anti- " said that it is "good to follow biblical principals" when I asked her if she thought it was Ok for a believer to go to a fortune teller or get a tattoo. Seems to me that "following biblical principals" and "keeping the Law" are pretty much the same thing. Anyway, thanks for the welcome!

Shalom Leyna! Welcome! I can understand what it is like to be shunned by friends. I lost all my friends after I started following the scriptures, it really hurt, but it was all for the best and I am thankful how much clearer the scriptures have become than before. Blessings!

When you seek the truth, it is a lonely path. Very few in this world are interested. However, you have the best of company.
Mat 7:14 Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Shalom and welcome to the forums Leyna! Thank you for sharing a little about yourself. You should fit in just fine here, as almost all of us have had a similar experience. Welcome to the mishpochah (family)!
