I'm Kristi. I'm a married mother of three. I've been putzing around in this Messianic movement in some form or another since 2003. I was raised Southern Baptist but I'm pretty much as far from my upbringing as possible these days. I'm an oddball. I've accepted it. I'm a researcher and a skeptic. I go where the evidence takes me, even if I'm on my own. I am logical and I love evidence. I'm not comfortable with the evangelical/charismatic approach of waiting for Gd to dump a revelation in your lap. I believe we are to be scouring the universe for Truth. I try to, at least. I enjoy checking out different perspectives on this life. I am not 2-house or sacred name. I believe the is for all believers. I'm not a karaite but I do question even traditional Judaism because, hey, if I don't take my faith seriously who will? I have a Christian Studies degree and I ask lots of questions. I'm always looking for well thought perspectives, answers, opinions and correction! I'm excited to be here and looking forward to learning, growing and, hopefully helping others to do the same!

My husband just lost his job. He's been there a long time and was let go unjustly. Please pray for us. We really want to move out of this state and go somewhere with a Messianic congregation. But we can't afford to move. We're really hard up financially. We need things to fall into place for us. Thanks.

Sorry to hear this. But trust God that He is moving you where He wants you. Of course I'll pray for you.
We've probably all been there. Twice I've been let go unjustly, both times because I refused to play politics, and those that did won out. I pray you'll be able to make the move you want.

Hi Kristi. I also have been studying since about 2002. I am also a researcher but I would not call myself a skeptic. Maybe I am? I am very cautious of what I hear from others and trust only in the Word. I would not even call myself a Messianic because I seek to follow the truth and not follow a group. Sometimes I feel so alone because I find my understanding of truth to be so different from others. Almost everything I believe from the Word matches what somebody teaches but there are so many other differences that I can't feel a kinship with anyone. I hear your desire to discuss and examine. Maybe I will be around enough to engage in some discussion with you. I hear many things from people on this forum that I find encouraging but I hear things from the same people I find discouraging. Labels are so dangerous because it makes people believe they know what you think when they see only a small piece and they assume too much more. I have only been back a couple of days so it will take me some time to look around and find a comfortable place to start participating. I am eager for some serious discussion. One of the problems is that there are so many different areas to discuss it is hard to know where to begin.[/img]

It's great to see new people here! My husband found a job (B"H)! We're planning to move out of state at the end of the year so we've been busy. Blessings!
