I am feeling quite puzzled on why there was so much persecution among the early believers. I guess I understand WHY to some degree.
From what I read and understand, the children of Israel were protected by God if they chose to keep God's commands. But, once they left the true God to follow other gods, there was no protection.
Here's my question....Why wouldn't God protect those who believed in His Son? Why were many beheaded, burned at the stake, ect.
We can read about Daniel being put into the lion's den, also, the three men that were thrown into the fiery furnace and they lived right through it. Why didn't it happen that way with the early apostles/believers?
Please, I would like help to understand this. I was recently given a book by my father that talked quite a bit about the way people would rather die than deny their faith. So, this got me to wondering.

Many of the holy men of G'd and the Prophets did die and sanctified the name of YHVH for the sake of the Kingdom.... "Woe to you hypocritical -teachers and P'rushim! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the tzaddikim, and you say, `Had we lived when our fathers did, we would never have taken part in killing the prophets.' In this you testify against yourselves that you are worthy descendants of those who murdered the prophets. " 23:29-31 23:37 - "Yerushalayim! Yerushalayim! You kill the prophets! You stone those who are sent to you! How often I wanted to gather your children, just as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, but you refused!" Yeshua Himself, The Righteous One was also persecuted and killed. "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." - Mat. 5:10 Shalom chaver, Reuel
