Greetings everyone,
my name is 'czygyny', from the word 'csigany', which according to a very old dictionary means; gypsy, wanderer or, in my case, sojourner.
I am 50 years old, and have been observing the Sabbath for about a year. It took me quite awhile to turn from my stubborness and consider that was still as relevant today as it was millennia ago, but I am learning and growing every day. YHWH had to take me through some very trying and difficult times to bring me to face this new path He wanted me to go in. I am doing my best to be obedient. I am, by nature, not a very 'meek and quiet spirit', but I am trying to grow into it.
I live in far north California on a small 5 acre farm, in part ownership with my mother, who lives next door (2 houses on the same property) my brother's 12 year old twins, a young man whom I have sort of adopted as my own son, and, alas, the brother (father of the twins). Since he has come to stay here, there is MUCH strife in my family and shalom seldom rests long. There was a good reason the kids were removed from him in the first place.
I am trying to take this trial and use it to focus my attention on Adonai and Messiah, which has helped me. I am praying that perhaps YHWH will give me a means for leaving my full time job so I can stay and help my mother, as she is getting feebler, and the twins, who are not treated well by their father, and keep up with the tasks of owning property and livestock.
On Shabbat I go to be with our very small congregation, 'Chavurah Messianic Israel Assembly', where I even get to blow the shofar sometimes (my many years playing brass instruments has come in handy! ) I am rather bookish and not the sort to visit much, but I have enjoyed the fellowship I receive every Sabbath.
I have a lot of scripture questions for you learned folks, and I look forward to gleaning knowledge and making friends.
