I've found (at least for me) that if I firmly say I do not celebrate Christmas, everyone respects that. I will exchange small gifts with family around Chanukkah or even a little after. But we are non-committal about what they are for. Just kind of a seasonal thing. We are also are getting together for a meal today. My son missed Thanksgiving due to the Chinese virus, so they wanted to get together. But we have no tree, no lights, no wreaths. My wife did put out a few cards and set an almost fancy table. But it is not a Christmas celebration. Just this is when my son is off wrk and able to come over.
I guess if I were you, and someone brought a present after you asked them not to, I'd politely accept, but not give them one in return. That'le probably stop them next year. As to family gatherings, i'd go until they either get drunk (of high) since it is family. But if they start singing carols I'd leave.
Just as an interesting side-note, my wife says the circle of German-English Jews she grew up with did exchange Christmas cards, but no mention of Jesus. They also exchanged gifts with close friends and family. Also, almost all of the secular Christmas carols that do not mention Jesus were written by Jews. Wierd, huh?

Dan C What's the issue with the Carols, I mean those Carols about Christ?
