There are die hard Hindus I know who will never convert to Christianity yet every whenever I will hear them saying things like "Oh Jesus" and "Thank you for this day Jesus", is that wrong, is that calling the Lord's name in vain"?

I don't know about Hindus specifically, but pagan religions in biblical times worshiped, or at least tried to appease the gods of the land where they were. So a Hindu in NYC might well "worship" the god of the land where they are; Jesus. Either way, to a Hindu Yeshua is just another god in the pantheon of gods. They reduce Him to the level of any other god/demon with visions of grandeur. So yes, they are in the wrong.
Now if they were seriously seeking Yeshua I believe He'd hear their prayers and reveal Himself in some way; possibly through you. But as it is in the examples you gave, they are only storing up wrath for themselves in the day of judgement; not only using His name in vain, but reducing God almighty to just another god, then throwingHis name out there like some kind of talisman against bad things.

then throwingHis name out there like some kind of talisman against bad things. Dan C That is exactly the impression I get which bothers me. On the other hand I sometimes think well, maybe if they mention his name often enough then maybe one day it might sink in which is why I don't come down on them but I know these people, they are die hard hindus and nothing on this earth will ever change them. I told one just earlier today that it is wrong, she didn't say anything but just a couple hours later I heard her mentioning his name in passing again and she is 76 years old so very set in her ways sighhhhhhhhh.
