My wife and I engage in similar worship to observe this special Shabbat. We generally tend to study Scriptures that relate to the festival day in question, and look especially at the past as well as future Spiritual fulfillment of these festival days, which are in fact prophecies of what YHWH's people will go through. The ultimate Pesach is yet to come, seeing YHWH's people will come out of Babylon as it was with Mitzraim (Egypt) and the ultimate Shavout is yet to come, etc. Observing these days with this in mind only grants a greater understanding and appreciation for the festival days.
