Just thought 'd share an email from R Reuel about what the parent synagogue here is doing. It might help some of you plan your own activities. I know it won't be the same, but still as a guideline it could help. If you have questions about anything, and internet search should provide everything from instructions to recipes.

Rosh HaShanah / Yom Teruah begins this Sun. night! I hope and pray that all of you have a wonderfully sweet Rosh HaShanah. May we all hear that sound, the sound of Adonai’s shofar and turn towards His , and turn to follow Yeshua The Messiah in all his ways. Our Erev Rosh HaShanah service will be Sun. evening, Sept. 13th @ 6pm, and our shacharit Rosh HaShannah service will be this Mon., Sept. 14th, at 10am.

If you have a shofar...bring it! It is customary to blow the shofar one hundred times throughout the day of Rosh HaShanah...So, help us fulfill the mitzvah!

Some of the traditional foods on this day that we encourage you to bring would include round challah, and of course, apples with honey. Other than that, it is traditional to wear white on Rosh HaShanah and on Yom Kippur. We will also have a special drawing to give away various wonderful judaica gifts to our dear brothers and sisters. Don’t miss out!

And, after our oneg (food and fellowship) we will go to Cannon Hill Park to observe the traditional “Tashlich” service. If you would like to join us for the Tashlich service, it will likely take place some time around 3pm.

“Jew & Gentile, One In Messiah”

I just got back in from our Erev Rosh Hashanah service. It was just our little shul and some guests; the Rabbi wasn't there as he was at the main synagogue. It was good- good food, good fellowship, good worship and of course the blowing of the shofars. We don't do tashlich, and ours wasn't as organized as most Jewish synagogues would be. We're just a bunch of farmers- not very polished. But I have to think God was pleased. We'll just have to keep at it until we get it right!

Sounds nice! Glad you enjoyed it and I am sure He is pleased.

As for us, minimal school work as my husband would not approve of flat-out taking the day off. I hope I found an acceptable balance of only doing what we enjoy and not worrying about what we "need" to do; a lot of fun reading and discussion. I will just try to stay in tune with G-d to help me best manage inspite of the less-than-ideal place  I'm in. Then I will watch the synagogue service. Hopefully the family joins me for some of it.
