Deborah, Hebrew: דְּבוֹרָה, an Israelite prophetess of God and the fourth Judge of Israel, counselor, warrior. Her name translates “ bee”; interesting as the best military commanders I knew or ever studied about were the ones that seemed to be everywhere at once. Even the more sedate ones had a knack for knowing exactly what was going on anywhere in their command at any time- in peace or in war. The only female judge mentioned in the Bible, Deborah led a successful counterattack against Jabin, king of Canaan, and his commander Sisera.
Her story is told in Judges 4 & 5. She epitomized the time of the Judges, who led the nation of Israel in every way and in war and peace. I can’t help but wonder, if Israel had never demanded a king? Or for that matter, what if our founders in the US or Canada had went all in and entrusted government to prophets and Judges instead of presidents, parliaments or congresses? If our military was ruled by prophets, we wouldn't need the CIA, and if the police were Godly judges then we wouldn't need the over-trained and over-brainwashed judges sitting on benches across the continent. I know, it’s pure speculation, but …
