I was at the ladies bible study this morning. One of the ladies was sharing of how she was telling her children about Easter. She stated that she told her children about the Easter bunny. They were going on a trip before Easter and, she went on to say that when she was talking to them about the Easter bunny, there was a rabbit in the middle of the road. The rabbit did not move so her husband had stopped the car. She had her children look at the rabbit. No sooner did she ask the children to look at the Easter bunny another car came and the rabbit got ran over.
My very thought at that moment was, "Did you not even think that God was trying to give you a message?" That Easter is not about rabbits, eggs, etc. That it was about Yeshua dying for our sins, and becoming the Passover Lamb and that He rose again on the third day. Why would the lady lie to her children about a rabbit that had nothing to do with Yeshua's death and resurrection? Only for her children to see the rabbit die at that very moment?
Yes, I am aware of the Easter pagan beliefs and all, however I do not worship these things. Nor are they my idols. Yet I do remember and think of what Yeshua had done for me and for the rest of the world.
I just found it interesting when the lady shared her story, or should I say tell her lies to her children. That is when the question popped up. Did she not realize that God was giving her a message that the rabbit was not the meaning of Yeshua's death and resurrection? And that is why the rabbit got ran over?

LOL! It probably got ran over because they stoped! It was so focused on them, probably thinking them a predator who'd stoped to ambush it if it moved, and it missed the car that didn't miss it! (Sorry, I'm just amused by ignorant people.) Christians are just SO much fun to be around ...
But I do see what you are saying. However, perhaps the lesson was/is an opportunity for you to share with her more than her sharing what she does not understand with her children.

It is amazing how often people are caught in observing traditions and they don't even realize it.

It is amazing how often people are caught in observing traditions and they don't even realize it. Frank you hit the nail on the head. It saddens me to see so many people get all excited about these pagan days then try to make some kind of scriptural backdrop for the celebration makes it even more pagan than the pagans celebrating it. The only people in scripture who kept pagan days were pagans. The rest kept the appointed times we find in the It is how this made its way into the churches as being a godly tradition when there is nothing godly about the tradition. Blessings everyone! Yedidyah
