Amein rej1s, because salvation is not possible without repentance it is indeed part of the Good News. This is awesome news...repent, believe and we will be forgiven if we continue in the Gospel and we will live with Adonai Elohenu l'olam vaed (the lord our G'd forever and ever)! The message of the Gospel is simply incomplete without the message of repentance as the message of forgiveness would not not be relevant. Therefore, because the Gospel is incomplete without the message of repentance...it can logically be stated that it is part of it.

I pretty much agree because I already said repentance works hand in hand with the gospel. It's just that I still believe that "repentance" is not the message of the gospel. You make a good point that repentance is necessary for salvation. We do not accept the good news of His grace when we do not repent. By repentance and obedience we accept His good news of grace.

The message of the Gospel if not acted upon by acceptance of His grace by repentance and obedience is simply a rejection of His Gospel message. The Gospel message exists whether we repent or not. When we don't repent and obey we are rejecting the gospel message.

Soon, I will be writing what I beleve the gospel message entails. Because none of us knows everything I welcome more imput from everyone.

So what then is the subject of the B'sorah Tova (Good News)?
It is this: If Yisrael had repented of her sins and turned back to , then the Messiah would have ushered in his Kingdom right then and there. In fact, the main focal point of his ministry was his offer to usher in the Messianic age ahead of it's appointed time.

Since I started this thread I thought I might add to it. I think the gospel message is revealed in more than one verse. I mean a person has to search the whole Bible to get the whole message. I don’t know if I have seen every verse and will rely on everyone to fill me in on anything I may have missed.

The verses I started with are found in Revelation 14:6. “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth- to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people 7 Saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come, and worship Him who made heaven and earth,the sea and springs of water.’<br>
The above verses describe an everlasting gospel. The word everlasting when referring to something of God means on and on into time infinity. That is why Jesus’s gospel message has not been changed. It’s always appropriate to Fear God, give glory to God, and worship God in any age including when Jesus returns to establish His kingdom here on earth. The gospel is to be preached to those who live on earth. Saying with a loud voice means God wants everyone to hear and know the message.

The gospel message found in Revelation 14:6-7 is: 1.) Fear God, 2.) Give glory to God, 3.) Worship God. Why should we do this? Because the hour of His judgment has come, judgment is happening right now while the gospel message is being preached. Because He is the Creator, who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water. The words “the heaven and earth, the sea’ comes from the fourth commandment The gospel message is thus linked to the Sabbath..

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy,….For the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea …..

Paul says the gospel is the revealed by Jesus Christ.

Galatians 1: 11-12 “But I made known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 for I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

So, it seems reasonable at least part of the gospel would be found in the book of Revelation since it is the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:1 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants……”

The gospel message is about the grace of God.

Acts 20:24 “ ……to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”<br>
The gospel concerns Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:1-2 “…….seperated to the gospel of God. 2 Which He promised through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 concerning His Son Jesus Christ….”

The gospel of Christ is power to receive salvation.

Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is power of God to salvation for everyone who believes….”<br>
Ephesians 1:13…..”after you heard the Word of truth, the gospel of your salvation”.

The gospel reveals the righteousness of God.

Romans 1:16-17 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.” “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith as it is written ‘The just shall live by faith.’<br>
The gospel is a message of hope

Colossians 1:23 “If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel….”<br>
The gospel concerns the coming kingdom of God. It must be preached to all nations before His return.

Mark 1:14 “……preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God 15 and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”<br>
Mark 13:10 “And the gospel must be preached to all the nations.”

The gospel is about justification by faith not works. The gospel of faith was preached to Abraham.

Galatians 3:8 “And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith preached the gospel to Abraham before-hand, saying “In you all the nations shall be blessed.”<br>
The message of the gospel is about salvation obtained by grace and not by works. You can’t be saved by keeping the law. You can’t do anything to be saved except by accepting God’s gift of grace. You accept it by repenting and obedience to God’s law.

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”<br>
You can reject the free gift of grace by not repenting, but if you do you are rejected from salvation. Repentance and obedience is acceptance of the gospel message of grace.

Hebrews 12:17 “For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears”

The position is simple, really. Gavriel gave Daniel a timeline for Yisrael to do t'shuva. They did not, the Temple was destroyed, and we were sent into exile.

I am in agreement. I know it is hard to understand, but what would have happened if the leaders and people of Yisrael as whole accepted Yeshua HaMashiach and His message? This makes perfect sense in the light of the following passage...

"Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim, who kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!"

Thank you Notzari Y'Hudi for explaining you statment further. The reason I asked is I just started studying the babylonian Talmud. Right know I'm researching the history of the writings. In doing so, and reading the words of some of the authors and contemporary historical writings, I have been leaning towards the same veiw. The more I dig into it the more it becomes apparent that Yeshua REALLY shook up the Rabi's/Pharisees of 1st century, (even more than scripture alludes to). Also his disciples after him. I'm amazed at the lengths they went to, to dispute and refute His teaching, deny his deity, etc. I was not aware of the amount of extra-scriptural writings on Yeshua. There seems to be alot of censored references in both Talmud and Targums regarding Yeshua. It's like what little light the pharisees had, they were determined to veil from anyone else. Gives new emphasis to "Blind guides".
One thing I found interesting is that the Pharisees and the early church had something in common, BOTH groups had problems with the Greek translations of scripture that were being written and circulated.
Any more resources on this and related topics would be greatly appreciated. thanx, Rick

There seems to be alot of censored references in both Talmud and Targums regarding Yeshua.

Yes, during the Middle Ages many references to Yeshua in the Talmud/Mishna were removed as the Catholics were using these as excuses to persecute and kill the Jewish people.

One thing I found interesting is that the Pharisees and the early church had something in common, BOTH groups had problems with the Greek translations of scripture that were being written and circulated.

Many of the references from the TeNaKh quoted in the Brit Chadashah come from the Septuagint and this is why there "seems" to be some discrepancy between what the Hebrew translation of the TeNaKh says and what is quoted in the Brit Chadashah (New Test.). But, one needs to keep in mind that the Septuagint was translated by Hebrew scholars of which there are no match today from older Hebrew manuscripts. So, it very well may be more accurate in some areas. At any rate, when there seems to be a discrepancy in what is being stated in the Brit Chadashah when it is quoting the TeNaKh check the Septuagint (Greek translation of the TeNaKh) as many cases this is what is actually being quoted.

I have buried myself in the Talmud this past week.
I would highly recomend anyone who believes in Yashua to at least read these once. This will shed a brilliant light on the teachings of Christ. I now have a much clearer understanding of the context in which Yashua came into conflict with the Pharisee's. ie: ALL of His teaching, upheld, defined, demonstrated, and fufilled . At the same time the same teaching, refuted, rebuked, chastised and outright defied Talmud,(commandments/traditions of men).
For instance; after studying "The 5 iniquitys of the Rabi's" "If 1001 Rabi's have one opinion vs the word of 1000 Prophets" they rely on the Rabis'. "If we hear from Heaven, we will NOT listen" They did indeed hear from heaven, and the prophets, and they "Did not hear"

WOW! talk about bring crystal clarity to the Gospel's!!!
One could write a book on the volumes this study so far has brought to light for me!

In regards to the topic of this thread, I'm am gaining a much clearer understanding of the context of "The message of the Gospel" and the deeper meaning behind Yashua's Words.

Shalom rej1s. Where did you get your study material from? I've been able to get my hands on bits and pieces here and there, but not the entire works of the Midrashim, Mishna, and Gemara. And are you reading it in English or in Aramaic?

I had been finding "bits and pieces" on the internet, most of which is antisemitic. I have some in copys of out of print books. (I collect out of print religious and reference books when I can find/afford them). I recently obtained a CD of the entire babylonian Talmud in english. The CD had the following link:

There is ALOT of info on this site on other religions and related studies with links to purchase CD's. I did not purchase mine through these sources so I assume my copy is bootlegged after noting the prices on the site links.
I can't vouch for the entire translation but what little I've been able to verify or compare is accurate. It appears to be very well done, and so far I haven't even found any "Typos".

I've been in some study about this.

It appears that the Gospel or Good News is mentioned in Genesis 3:15, a Redeemer.

In Genesis 4:1 Eve thought that the man she aquired was Him but she was wrong.
